Everyone knows that feeling. You are sitting at your desk (or wherever you like to work from) and you don't want to work on your current project (even tho you should). You decide to slack away, watching videos, talking to nice people. You come across a nice little script called KontaktDB made by the awesome jbauer.
You like the idea of a CLI contact manager, but his needs don't quite match with your own ones. In fact, I didn't even need a contact manager to begin with, but I liked the idea. Me and jbauer talked about gopass and pass last night/morning and then it hit me.
What about a contact manager that saves contacts in readable text but encrypts the file like pass
and gopass
via PGP? So instead of me making progress with my UEFF project, I did this: ocm - Owl's Contact Manager.
- Is it a fully fletched CLI program of awesome? Hell no!
- Is it working? I'd say so.
- Did it make sense to write it in the first place? That's for you to decide.
- It's made cheap! You can bet it is ;)
If you find any use for ocm
or KontaktDB
, you're welcome.
Before I stop, I want to thank Drew DeVault for his awesome sourcehut project that not only works very well without JavaScript, but is also a charm to work with in a text browser.
